Which Mac OSX version do scientists use
Net Applications provides an insight into global market share, they also track the share of the different versions of operating systems. On MacResearch there is a poll asking “Which version of Mac OS X is on your primary machine?”. A comparison of the results highlights some important differences, whilst globally only 23% are now running Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) among the MacResearch scientific community over 75% have upgraded to Snow Leopard. Software vendors need to evaluate their software against forthcoming versions of the operating system rather than wait until it is released.
